#ReadMore

One of the many goals that I set up for myself is to read more. What does that mean? Well, in 2015 I read half of a book, so 3/4 of a book would be more. Actually, the goal for 2016 was 5 books. Sitting here mid-October, my total is 1 (I did just pick up a Napoleon Hill paperback). Everyday when I drive home from the real estate office, I take a gander into the park and see a small structure resembling a combination of a dollhouse and birdhouse. Albeit about 2 foot wide by 3 foot tall, it houses probably over a hundred books, all donated by Encinitas locals. This is one of two local Little Free Libraries in the city. Their motto is, "Take a book - return a book." Pretty simple. Pretty cool idea. But who reads anymore?

The benefits of reading include improved verbal ability, stress reduction, expansion of the imagination, very inexpensive or free entertainment, and maybe even boosted intelligence. Some of the smartest and most successful business people (including Warren Buffett, Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, and Oprah) have a very healthy daily reading habit. Let's all read more, improve our brains, and potentially our lives.

If you are interested in setting up a miniature library, check out LittleFreeLibrary.org. They not only encourage reading more, but also build a sense of community. Can you dig it?

More reading = more income?? Check this out

Don't forget to visit the Encinitas Library - they have books too.
